Eliot Borenstein

Eliot Borenstein (PhD, University of Wisconsin-Madison, 1993, Slavic languages and literatures) is Professor of Russian & Slavic Studies and Senior Academic Convenor for the Global Network at New York University. His research interests lie in Russian contemporary literature and cultural studies, conspiracy theories, and internet culture. He is the author of numerous publications including Pussy Riot: Speaking Punk to Power (Bloomsbury, 2020), Plots against Russia: Conspiracy and Fantasy after Socialism (Cornell University Press, 2019), and Men without Women: Masculinity and Revolution in Russian Fiction, 1917-1929. Duke (2000). His writing has also been featured in Russian Performances, The Routledge International Handbook to Gender in Central-Eastern Europe and Eurasia, and Russian Literature since 1991.
