Tim Caro
Tim Caro is professor in the School of Biological Sciences, University of Bristol, UK and was formerly Distinguished Professor Emeritus, University of California, Davis. He has conducted field research on mating systems in cheetahs, conservation strategies in the tropics, the adaptive significance of zebra stripes, and color polymorphisms of coconut crabs. For the last thirty years, he has been investigating the function of coloration in animals, focusing particularly on mammals. He is also the author of Conservation by Proxy: Indicator, Umbrella, Keystone, Flagship, and Other Surrogate Species.
